Dis een van die grootste gebiede wat deur Kaapse Natuurbewaring beheer word. Dink net: 340 km², met ongeveer 1 500 plantspesies, 86 soogdierspesies, meer as 260 voëlspesies en minstens 250 visspesies in die beskermde mariene gebied.

The reason it is not continually fully booked even though there are only 10 sites, is that the tariff has more than doubled (from R130 to R275) even during the week out of season. The stalwarts that have camped here for the last 30 years have been priced out of the market as Capenature have outsourced the reserve to a company which is busy yuppifying it with a fancy restaurant and other facilities which are aimed at the upmarket camper. If the cost is in your zone I would fully recommend it, as it as a place for reflection and vegging out under the stars. Just make a plan to visit in the near future before the obligatory golf estate or 4x4 trail is developed as these will be the death knell of the goose that lays the golden egg....
