Probleme met Garmin Nuvi 2460LT

 Ek het pas 'n nuwe 2460LT GPS aangeskaf en ondervind verskeie probleme daarmee.

Kan iemand dalk help?

On 10 June 2011, I purchased a new Garmin Nuvi 2460LT

Problems so far:

City Navigator® Southern Africa NT Maps have finally been updated (Approx 300Mb of internet bandwidth) after the Garmin.com server was offline for most of the day. (10 June 2011)

I find it disappointing that the update still seems to contain ancient information.

Eg Durban International Airport is still shown, but no King Shaka International Airport (KSIA. (Opened more than a year ago.)

The by-pass. highways around Nelspruit, opened with much fanfare before the SWC in 2010, are still not shown?

Enoch Mabusa Street in Nelspruit, was completed about 3 years ago, but the “new” map still shows a gap at S25.50317 E30.98702

The My Dashboard, indicates that a Software Update is available.

After downloading this software, the following message is shown

>You must restart your device for the update to take effect.

Disconnect your device from your computer and let it restart. Do not turn it on or off until it returns to the main screen,* because that may cause your device to become inoperable.

When I disconnect from the computer, the Nuvi switches off and nothing further happens.

The rest of the instructions then are inapplicable

When the restart process is complete, turn your device off.

Reconnect your device to your computer and wait 30 seconds.

Click "Done" to verify the software is up-to-date.>

The device pairs with my cell phone. An incoming call can be received on the nuvi 2460LT, but the “Phone Icon” does not show on the main Menu . Hence the “Phonebook cannot be accessed”.

(I have tried this with both a Nokia N63 and a Nokia Navigator which both work with my ailing Nuvi 710)

The Nuvi Manual downloads, but cannot be saved on the Harddrive?

I know that there is a learning curve to follow, but presently I feel disappointed with the purchase.
